ABOUT ME

Hey! I am Lil g, and I am a tattoo artist based in Nairobi, Kenya. I was born here, and grew up around East Africa (Uganda and Rwanda). Growing up I lovd drawing, but realised I wasn’t as good as some other kids, and found other interests. It was only when I started to get high-quality tattoos that I realised it was something I wanted to be able to do.

On March 5th 2020, I did my first tattoo on practice skin, which then became an addiction. Alongside watching all the YouTube videos I could find about tattooing (mainly tutorials on safety, design, and technique). After about 3 months of countless hours tattooing practice skin, I started doing tattoos on anyone for free. I have since set up a studio in Nairobi, and over 500 tattoos later, I am always trying to improve, and take my tattooing to the next level. I hope you will be part of the journey, and create a memory through the experience of getting a tattoo.

I love hearing good stories, as well as discovering new music, and look forward to meeting you if you decide to book a session.

I was 16 when I did my first tattoo. I had just started watching Ink Master, and after binging a whole season in one day, I ordered a tattoo machine in the evening. I got it the following day, and started practicing on fruits. However, it didn’t feel “real”. A while later my sister saw I got a tattoo machine, and let me practice on her. I honestly don’t think I would be here if it weren’t for my sister. She has supported me from day 1. I did not do very many tattoos at that time, as not many people would want to get bad tattoos… I put a pause on tattooing, and ended up going to university in London to study accounting. While there, I received my first high-quality tattoos at the London Tattoo Convention (big thank you to: Christos Galiropoulos and Angel Reynosa). The first year of university went by, and I was not very happy looking back at the past year. I decided to go back to tattooing, but in a way that I could make something out of myself.
